Job Description
**Job Title** Junior Business Analyst (Summer Student) **Role Summary** Support the Commercial Services Business Banking team in preparing, analyzing, and presenting loan proposals for medium to high‑complexity commercial members. Conduct credit analysis, due‑diligence, and financial modeling while ensuring compliance with policies, risk standards, and portfolio objectives. **Expectations** - Deliver high‑quality loan proposals and credit memos within deadlines. - Identify and mitigate commercial loan risks; adhere to compliance and risk‑management standards. - Communicate effectively with internal partners and commercial members. - Meet or exceed target metrics for loan origination, portfolio performance, and service response times. **Key Responsibilities** - Analyze and structure loan terms, pricing, conditions, and covenants for commercial proposals. - Prepare loan packages, negotiate deal structures, and ensure policy compliance. - Produce credit analysis reports, financial models, and portfolio performance forecasts across various asset classes. - Compile and maintain commercial file documentation; support administration tasks. - Participate in adjudication, review, and risk assessment of commercial lending transactions. - Assist with compliance reporting and annual portfolio risk reviews. - Identify opportunities to improve loan origination and management processes. - Uphold health & safety standards and represent the organization positively to members and the community. **Required Skills** - Strong business acumen; detail‑oriented and analytical mindset. - Knowledge of real‑estate development, construction, and commercial banking products. - Ability to detect risk trends in commercial loans and apply mitigation strategies. - Excellent customer‑service orientation and communication skills. - Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and comfortable using computers for data analysis. - Quick response to member service requests; flexible to work varied hours as needed. - Understanding of enterprise risk, regulatory compliance, and internal policies. **Required Education & Certifications** - Pursuing or recently completed a post‑secondary diploma or degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent education/experience). - No specific certifications required; relevant coursework in credit analysis, financial modeling, or commercial banking is advantageous.
