Job Description
Job Title: Disaster Recovery 24/7 Field Tech Specialist Role Summary: Senior on‑call IT field technician responsible for rapid response to outages, cybersecurity incidents, and infrastructure failures. Provides 24/7 disaster recovery support, leads recovery operations, and performs on‑site hardware repairs. Expectations: • Always available on call (24/7) with flexible, unpredictable hours and no guaranteed workload. • Must travel to client sites at short notice to restore services. • Maintain a high level of technical expertise and professionalism under pressure. Key Responsibilities: - Respond immediately to system outages, cyber incidents, and infrastructure failures. - Lead disaster recovery efforts: system restoration, failover, and validation. - Troubleshoot and maintain VMware ESXi/vCenter environments and Windows Server clusters. - Configure and maintain network infrastructure (firewalls, VPNs, VLANs). - Execute hands‑on server hardware repairs. - Communicate clearly with clients during high‑pressure events. - Serve as technical lead during system‑down events. Required Skills: - Expert knowledge of VMware ESXi and vCenter. - Proficient with Windows Server 2016–2022, Active Directory, Azure integration. - Advanced networking (switching, routing, firewalls). - Experience with Fortinet, SonicWall, or Cisco firewalls. - Hands‑on server hardware troubleshooting. - Familiarity with backup/DR tools (Veeam). - Strong problem‑solving and customer‑facing communication. Required Education & Certifications: - Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred). - Certifications such as VCP‑Datacenter, VCP‑ESXi, MCSE/MCITP or equivalent are strongly preferred. - Valid driver’s license and readiness to travel on short notice.
