Job Description
**Job Title:** Senior Controls Engineer **Role Summary:** A Senior Controls Engineer leads the design, development, testing, and operational support of electrical and control systems for complex industrial equipment. Utilizing PLC, HMI, and industrial automation platforms, the engineer creates structured, maintainable control programs, manages troubleshooting, and ensures compliance with safety and quality standards across projects. **Expectations:** - Deliver high‑quality control solutions on time, maintaining critical path deliverables. - Uphold strict safety, lockout/tagout, and ISO compliance. - Mentor team members and foster productive cross‑functional collaboration. - Adapt to occasional travel (up to 25%) and flexible schedules to meet production deadlines. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Program, debug, and test PLC (Allen Bradley, Bosch‑Rexroth, Codesys) and HMI logic. 2. Develop structured, documented, reusable code for multi‑station machinery (roll‑forming, packaging). 3. Modify and maintain AutoCAD Electrical drawings for design updates. 4. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues during test, installation, and warranty support. 5. Conduct start‑up of AC drives, servo drives, and cut‑to‑length systems. 6. Coordinate with project scheduling to prevent delays and ensure timely engineering releases. 7. Mentor junior controls engineers and technicians. 8. Enforce safety protocols, lockout/tagout, and plant rules. 9. Participate in ISO process improvement initiatives. **Required Skills:** - PLC & HMI programming (Allen Bradley, Bosch‑Rexroth, Codesys). - Advanced use of RSLogix 5000/500 or Bosch Rexroth control software. - AutoCAD Electrical for design modifications. - Diagnostic skills: multimeter, oscilloscope, device networking. - Troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and schematic interpretation. - Time management and organizational planning. - Documented compliance with safety standards and lockout/tagout. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering Technology with a focus on control systems. - Minimum five (5) years of professional experience in electrical controls, PLC/HMI programming, and RSLogix/Bosch Rexroth environments. - Valid certification in lockout/tagout or occupational health & safety is preferred but not mandatory. ---
