Job Description
**Job Title** Vice President, Scale‑Up Engineering **Role Summary** Lead the conversion of validated pilot‑scale recycling processes into the company’s first commercial demonstration plant. Report to the CEO, design and commission industrial systems, establish engineering frameworks, and build the technical operations organization to enable repeatable, cost‑effective scale‑up of future facilities. **Expectations** - Deliver a fully commissioned commercial plant on schedule and budget. - Build and mentor high‑performing engineering and commissioning teams. - Provide decisive technical leadership in a fast‑moving, ambiguous environment. - Establish scalable documentation, processes, and decision‑making frameworks for subsequent deployments. **Key Responsibilities** - Translate pilot data into industrial‑scale process and equipment specifications. - Oversee engineering development, vendor selection, and plant commissioning. - Create and manage the initial technical operations team and operating model. - Validate system performance with operational data and drive continuous improvement. - Develop standardized documentation, SOPs, and deployment roadmaps. - Align cross‑functional stakeholders (engineering, operations, finance, EPC, manufacturing) and external partners. **Required Skills** - Proven experience scaling novel technologies from pilot to commercial operation (e.g., pulp & paper, chemicals, advanced manufacturing). - Strong systems architecture and process‑engineering expertise. - Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering and commissioning teams in start‑up or greenfield settings. - Excellent decision‑making under uncertainty with a focus on operational readiness. - Leadership style emphasizing autonomy, accountability, and continuous learning. - Effective communication and stakeholder‑management skills. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Process, or related engineering discipline (Master’s preferred). - Relevant professional engineering licensure (PE) advantageous but not mandatory. - Additional certifications in project management or industrial safety a plus.
