Job title: Founding Full Stack Software Engineer
Role Summary: Lead the end‑to‑end development of an AI‑driven data layer that captures real estate development projects at the entitlement stage. Own the design, implementation and scaling of web scraping pipelines, document extraction, data deduplication, API architecture, and front‑end platform to deliver actionable insights to users.
Expactations: Provide full ownership over a startup‑grade product: identify problems, craft solutions, build reliable systems, iterate rapidly, and collaborate across product, data, and operations. Drive technical excellence and mentor the growing engineering team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and maintain scalable web‑scraping infrastructure for thousands of municipal sites with varied formats and rate limits.
• Build LLM‑based pipelines to extract structured data (addresses, parcel IDs, approvals) from PDFs, Word documents and scanned images.
• Implement data deduplication, merging, and enrichment to create unified project records.
• Design performant MySQL schemas and REST/GraphQL APIs supporting millions of projects and complex geospatial queries.
• Develop and refine the Next.js front‑end, ensuring a user experience that can scale to 1+ million active users.
• Integrate CI/CD workflows, automated testing, and monitoring for reliability.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate development and enhance feature quality, while maintaining human oversight.
• Collaborate with product, data science, and operations to prioritize features and improve data quality.
Required Skills:
• Full‑stack development experience (PHP/Symfony, Next.js, React, Node.js).
• Proficient in MySQL (or equivalent relational DB) schema design and performance tuning.
• Strong background in scraping, parsing, and data extraction from diverse document formats.
• Hands‑on experience with LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar) and prompt engineering.
• Familiarity with geospatial data handling and real‑time data pipelines.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD, unit/integration testing, and containerization (Docker).
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and ownership mindset appropriate for a founder‑level role.
Required Education & Certifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• No mandatory certifications, but familiarity with AI/ML tools and platforms is preferred.
