Job Description
**Job Title** Fall 2026 Internship – Software **Role Summary** A full‑time, 10‑12 week onsite internship focused on software development for a reusable launch vehicle. Interns tackle real, open‑ended engineering problems, collaborating with mentors and cross‑functional teams to deliver functional software components that support vehicle design, manufacturing, and operations. **Expectations** - Complete a minimum of 10–12 consecutive weeks of onsite work. - Possess U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or the legal right to work under ITAR regulations. - Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication. - Manage a complex technical project from conception through execution. - Adapt quickly, learn state‑of‑the‑art techniques, and contribute to high‑impact, end‑to‑end solutions. **Key Responsibilities** - Design, implement, and test software modules in Python, C, or Rust. - Collaborate with hardware and systems teams to integrate software into vehicle subsystems. - Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and sprint planning. - Document code, design decisions, and test plans. - Troubleshoot and resolve software defects in a fast‑paced, mission‑critical environment. - Contribute to continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and automation tools. **Required Skills** - Proficiency in Python, C, or Rust with project‑level experience. - Solid grasp of engineering fundamentals (e.g., control systems, signal processing, data structures). - Experience managing a technical project or leading a development effort. - Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. - Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. **Required Education & Certifications** - Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field. - No additional certifications required; knowledge of ITAR compliance is preferred.
