Finance Manager (Part-Time)
Job Description
Job Title: Part‑Time Finance Manager Role Summary: Responsible for developing accurate, timely financial reports, managing cash flow, payroll, budgeting, forecasting and external accounting liaison. Oversees and enhances finance systems (Xero) and provides line management to a Finance Assistant. Expectations: - Deliver monthly management accounts (5th‑7th working day). - Conduct finance meetings with Directors, provide variance analysis. - Manage cash flow, banking, FX forecasting, payroll & tax obligations. - Strengthen internal controls, reporting, and system efficiencies. - Support business growth through proactive financial insights. Key Responsibilities: - Produce accurate monthly management accounts. - Prepare and present financial reports to Directors. - Define budgets, forecast, and analyze variances. - Manage cash flow, banking, FX, payroll (PAYE, journals). - Handle VAT returns, corporation tax accruals, year‑end accounts. - Liaise with external accountants and financial providers. - Review and improve financial systems, controls and reporting. - Line‑manage and support the Finance Assistant. Required Skills: - Proven experience as Finance Manager, Company Accountant or similar. - Hands‑on monthly management account production. - Proficiency with Xero (or comparable cloud‑based accounting software). - Strong budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management expertise. - Knowledge of payroll processing (PAYE), VAT, corporation tax, banking. - Excellent organisational skills, accuracy and deadline focus. - Proactive mindset for process improvement and value creation. - Experience managing or supervising a finance team (desirable). Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field. - Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent) preferred.
