**Job title** Software Engineering Intern **Role Summary** A 10‑week summer internship in MCG Health’s Software Engineering & Design Team. Interns develop and enhance a multitenant SaaS application that streamlines workflow for hospitals and insurance companies. They collaborate closely with team members and managers, receive mentorship, and contribute to one or two projects that directly support the organization’s mission to transform healthcare delivery. **Expectations** - Work collaboratively in a small, cross‑functional team. - Manage workload and deadlines within a fast‑paced internship schedule. - Apply critical thinking to propose creative technical solutions. - Demonstrate clear and professional communication in written and verbal formats. - Seek and incorporate feedback to improve performance and project outcomes. - Show initiative, urgency, and adaptability while learning new tools and processes. **Key Responsibilities** - Participate in the planning, development, and execution of 1–2 department‑specific projects. - Write clean, maintainable code in a service‑oriented architecture, primarily using .NET/C#. - Conduct basic research and data analysis to support decision‑making and design choices. - Test and debug applications, ensuring accuracy and high quality of deliverables. - Collaborate with peers, managers, and cross‑functional teams on project tasks and brainstorming sessions. - Document work, prepare progress reports, and present findings to stakeholders. - Attend mandatory office days and participate in company‑wide learning activities. **Required Skills** - Proficiency in .NET/C# (preferably .NET Core) or other object‑oriented languages. - Experience with IDEs such as Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, or Rider. - Strong understanding of object‑oriented design principles. - Basic competency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). - Ability to write clear technical documentation and communicate effectively. - High sense of urgency, multi‑tasking ability, and strong time‑management. - Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving project requirements. **Required Education & Certifications** - Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent. - Junior or senior year standing (minimum 60% of degree completed). - No specific certifications required, but academic excellence and relevant coursework are preferred.
