Job Description
**Job Title:** Data Privacy Specialist **Role Summary:** Ensures enterprise-wide privacy compliance by integrating data protection requirements into products, processes, and contracts. Manages privacy operations such as data mapping, DPIAs, system upkeep, and data‑subject requests while driving process improvements, training, and alignment with global privacy regulations. **Expectations:** - 5+ years of privacy/data‑protection experience in a large, complex organization. - Deep knowledge of global privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, etc.) and emerging regulations (EU Data Act, AI Act, NIS2). - Proven project‑management and program‑ownership track record across cross‑functional teams. - Ability to translate legal requirements into technical and operational controls. - Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder‑management skills. - Proactive approach to continuous improvement and risk mitigation. **Key Responsibilities:** - Partner with product, engineering, legal, HR, and compliance teams to embed privacy requirements. - Conduct and manage Data Protection Impact Assessments and data‑mapping activities. - Maintain and operate privacy compliance tools (e.g., TrustArc, OneTrust). - Respond to data‑subject access requests and other privacy inquiries. - Develop and publish privacy guidelines, checklists, and best‑practice documentation. - Design and deliver enterprise‑wide privacy training programs. - Monitor global privacy law developments and advise on emerging risks. - Coordinate with external counsel as needed for regulatory matters. **Required Skills:** - Comprehensive understanding of GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, Privacy Act (AU), PIPEDA, POPI, and related statutes. - Familiarity with EU Data Act, AI Act, NIS2. - Experience operationalizing privacy controls and data‑governance frameworks. - Proficiency with privacy management platforms (TrustArc, OneTrust, etc.). - Strong written and verbal communication; detail‑oriented. - Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities; client‑service mindset. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in ambiguous situations. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Law, Information Security, Computer Science, Business, or related field. - Professional privacy certification preferred (e.g., CIPM, CIPP, or equivalent). - Additional language skills (French or other EEA languages) considered an asset.
