Job Description: Job Title: Automation Engineer (F/M) Role Summary: Design, develop, and implement control solutions for assembly and production lines in the transport manufacturing sector. Expectations: - Deliver functional specifications and technical details for production lines within agreed cost, quality, and schedule constraints. - Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and site teams during commissioning and troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities: - Interpret client specifications and project requirements. - Produce functional specifications, detailed functional analyses, and technical breakdowns for production lines. - Define technical characteristics and performance parameters of subsystems and components (operating conditions, limits, modes). - Develop new features and conduct sizing calculations for automation subsystems. - Generate detailed specifications, datasheets, and system architectures. - Maintain presentations, clarifications, and technical coordination with suppliers and subcontractors. - Participate in line commissioning at client sites or workshop facilities. - Travel up to 45 % of the time domestically and internationally for workshop visits and client support. Required Skills: - Minimum 5 years experience in process automation (PLC) for industrial production lines. - Proficient in Siemens S7‑1500 PLC programming using TIA Portal. - Experience with Sinumerik One machining center and WinCC supervisory control systems. - Strong competency in engineering tasks: design, development, sizing, programming, and simulation of automation solutions. - Knowledge of Industry 4.0 concepts, emerging technologies, and readiness to propose improvements. - Fluent in English for technical documentation and communication. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation Engineering or related discipline. - Certifications in Siemens TIA Portal or equivalent automation programming preferred.
