Junior Quality Assurance Specialist (Co‑op/Intern)
**Role Summary**
Assist the QA team in ensuring high‑quality feature releases by creating, documenting, and executing manual and automated test plans across the product development lifecycle. Support bug identification, tracking, and resolution, and help shape the testing and quality strategy while championing AI tools to accelerate testing and development.
**Expectations**
- Undergraduate second or third year in Computer Science, Engineering, Sciences, or Mathematics.
- Demonstrated ability to write test cases and build test plans.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Collaborative mindset with adaptability and accountability.
- Familiarity with modern web and mobile frameworks and basic programming concepts.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design and implement manual and automated test scripts for web (VueJS, HTML, CSS) and mobile (React Native) components.
- Execute test cases, identify defects, and log bugs in Jira, ensuring end‑to‑end traceability to closure.
- Communicate test results and issue status to QA and development teams.
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of testing strategies for new and existing projects.
- Leverage AI tools for ideation, prototype generation, user story creation, and iterative testing to improve product performance.
- Advocate for and aid the adoption of AI across product and development workflows to enhance efficiency and decision‑making.
- Manage multiple tasks under shifting priorities and tight deadlines, demonstrating effective time management.
**Required Skills**
- Test case writing and test plan preparation.
- Manual testing proficiency; experience with automated test frameworks.
- Bug identification, reporting, and tracking (Jira).
- Knowledge of VueJS, HTML, CSS, React Native, Python Flask, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Understanding of relational databases and database applications.
- Strong analytical, logical reasoning, and problem‑analysis abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Time‑management, adaptability, collaboration, and accountability.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Current enrollment in a post‑secondary program (2nd or 3rd year) in Computer Science, Engineering, Sciences, or Mathematics.
- No mandatory certifications, but familiarity with QA tools (e.g., Jira, test automation frameworks) is preferred.
