Proposal Manager (United Kingdom)
**Role Summary**
Lead end‑to‑end proposal responses for customer RFPs, RFIs, and security questionnaires. Own the coordination, content creation, quality assurance, and compliance aspects of proposals, ensuring alignment with product, technical, legal, and commercial requirements. Drive continuous process improvement and cross‑functional collaboration to maximize win rates in enterprise B2B SaaS and cybersecurity contracts.
**Expectations**
* Deliver accurate, timely, and compelling proposals that fully reflect the company’s capabilities and contractual terms.
* Maintain a high win rate for qualified RFPs and meet or exceed proposal turnaround targets.
* Keep proposal content and templates current, consistent, and compliant with legal and regulatory frameworks.
* Provide actionable insights from win/loss analysis to inform strategy and future proposal development.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Own the complete RFP response lifecycle: intake, go/no‑go analysis, resource coordination, drafting, review, and submission.
2. Maintain the RFP calendar, track deadlines, and coordinate simultaneous proposals across multiple stakeholders.
3. Develop and update proposal templates, boilerplate libraries, response databases, and compliance documents.
4. Collaborate with Sales, Legal, Product, Engineering, Security, and Compliance to gather accurate, comprehensive responses.
5. Write, edit, and refine proposal content, translating technical and legal concepts into clear, persuasive language.
6. Ensure consistency in messaging, branding, and compliance, and conduct final quality reviews before submission.
7. Partner with Legal to validate contractual terms, SLAs, liability provisions, and NDAs.
8. Stay informed on relevant compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, CCPA, FedRAMP, NIST) and incorporate them into proposals.
9. Track proposal metrics (volume, win rates, response times) and report trends to leadership.
10. Conduct win/loss reviews, identify lessons learned, and update knowledge base accordingly.
11. Train and mentor team members on proposal best practices, tools, and processes.
**Required Skills**
* 5+ years of proposal management experience in B2B SaaS, technology, or cybersecurity.
* Proven ability to manage complex, multi‑stakeholder RFP responses and secure enterprise deals.
* Strong project management: prioritization, timeline management, and resource coordination.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication with the capacity to synthesize complex information.
* Deep understanding of cybersecurity concepts, compliance frameworks, and enterprise procurement.
* Experience collaborating with Legal on commercial contracts and commercial terms.
* Proficiency with proposal tools (RFPIO, Loopio, etc.) and CRM systems (Salesforce).
* Advanced Microsoft Office / Google Workspace skills.
* Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to implement process improvements.
**Required Education & Certifications**
* Bachelor’s degree (Business, Law, Communications, or related field).
* Advanced degree (MBA, JD, or equivalent) preferred.
* Professional certification in proposal management (APMP) is a plus.
* Familiarity with public‑sector procurement processes and technical writing certifications is advantageous.
