Senior DevOps Specialist
Role Summary
Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure, scalable cloud and container infrastructure. Support continuous integration and deployment practices, ensuring high availability and performance across AWS and on-premises environments.
Expectations
- Deliver robust, secure, and automated solutions for production workloads.
- Collaborate closely with development teams to adopt DevOps and GitOps workflows.
- Provide 24/7 on‑call support, rotating shifts for critical incident response.
Key Responsibilities
1. Administer Linux servers: installation, configuration, performance tuning, and security patch management.
2. Manage critical services (HAProxy, Nginx, Apache) and custom monitoring/logging stacks.
3. Automate routine tasks with Ansible, Terraform, shell, and Python scripts.
4. Harden systems, implement security best practices, and conduct vulnerability assessments.
5. Oversee Kubernetes (EKS) clusters: deployment, updates, monitoring, and health checks.
6. Optimize cloud infrastructure on AWS and OVH: VPC, Security Groups, ACLs, routing, and resource scaling.
7. Monitor performance metrics (Datadog, Prometheus), troubleshoot network, database, and application issues.
8. Coordinate with teams on infrastructure migration from legacy systems to modern, resilient architectures.
9. Lead security audits, post‑incident reviews, and threat detection automation.
10. Maintain secure access (VPN, SSH keys, IAM policies) across platforms.
Required Skills
- Depth in Linux administration and Docker/containerd troubleshooting.
- Proficient with Kubernetes (EKS) and CI/CD tooling (GitLab, GitOps).
- Advanced AWS expertise: EC2, VPC, IAM, Security Groups, EC2‑Auto Scaling, CloudWatch.
- Automation experience: Ansible, Terraform, shell scripting, Python.
- Strong networking knowledge (IP, ACLs, routing, VPN).
- Security focus: hardening, patching, incident response, vulnerability scanning.
- Familiarity with Java and C++ development ecosystems.
- Bilingual: French (written & spoken) and English.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Relevant certifications preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or similar.
