Job Description: **Job Title:** Lead Data Engineer **Role Summary:** Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and infrastructure for global banking projects, lead a team of data engineers, enforce engineering best practices, and ensure data reliability, security, and compliance. **Expectations:** - Long‑term contract role (no visa sponsorship). - Leadership and mentorship of a moderately sized data engineering team. - Drive engineering excellence and maintain high standards of data quality and governance. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead and mentor data engineering team, establishing best practices. - Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and reliable data pipelines and architectures. - Develop and optimize ETL processes, integrating diverse data sources into unified platforms. - Ensure data quality, governance, and regulatory compliance. - Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and IT teams to support business and analytical objectives. - Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance data performance and infrastructure. **Required Skills:** - Strong experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, data warehousing, and big‑data technologies (Hadoop, Spark). - Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala with solid OOP and design pattern knowledge. - Expertise in ETL tools and orchestration frameworks (Airflow, Apache NiFi). - Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their data services. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred). - Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics, Azure Data Engineer Associate, or Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer) are a plus.
