Job Description
**Job Title:** Risk Management & Insurance Summer Internship **Role Summary:** 10‑week, full‑time internship providing hands‑on experience in risk management and insurance functions. Interns rotate through key business areas, applying classroom knowledge to real‑world projects while developing professional skills in a corporate environment. **Expectations:** - Enrolled as a junior or senior undergraduate (or equivalent) in Risk Management & Insurance, Business, Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or a related field. - Able to secure temporary housing in the Clearwater, FL area for the internship period. - Demonstrates strong interest in pursuing a career in the insurance industry. - Available full‑time (Mon‑Fri, 8 am‑5 pm) for the 8‑10 week program beginning early June. - Exhibits reliable attendance, professional demeanor, and teamwork orientation. **Key Responsibilities:** - Assist marketing, business development, and sales teams with research, client outreach, and data preparation. - Support commercial underwriting staff by gathering risk information, preparing summaries, and performing basic risk assessments. - Contribute to product management/development projects, including documentation, competitor analysis, and pricing support. - Participate in financial management and accounting tasks such as data entry, report generation, and variance analysis. - Aid actuarial and analytics activities through data collection, spreadsheet modeling, and basic statistical calculations. - Observe and help operational and audit functions, including process documentation and compliance checks. **Required Skills:** - Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. - Effective written and verbal communication. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with data analysis tools is a plus. - Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. - Team‑oriented mindset with a willingness to learn from various departments. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Risk Management & Insurance, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or related discipline. - No specific certifications required; coursework or experience in insurance, risk assessment, or financial analysis is preferred.
