Job Description

**Job Title** Safety and Environment Engineer (Gender-neutral) **Role Summary** The Safety and Environment Engineer will lead health, safety, and environmental (HSE) management within an assigned industrial workshop. The role focuses on coordinating HSE practices, supporting managers with action plans, and advancing ISO 14001 implementation while driving continuous improvement projects over a one‑year fixed‑term contract. **Expectations** - Deliver effective site‑wide HSE performance and compliance. - Demonstrate strong operational focus, adaptability, and meticulousness. - Act as a catalyst for embedding safety and environmental culture across the organization. - Transition quickly to autonomy and provide clear, actionable guidance for managers and staff. **Key Responsibilities** - Manage and oversee safety, health, and environmental management within the designated workshop. - Coach site managers in defining, executing, and monitoring safety action plans and corrective actions. - Support the ISO 14001 environmental management system, including document control, internal audits, and process improvement initiatives. - Contribute to safety/environment project teams, ensuring alignment with site objectives and regulatory requirements. - Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses, incident investigations, and root‑cause reviews. - Develop and deliver safety and environmental training sessions for all personnel. - Maintain accurate HSE records, incident reports, and regulatory compliance documentation. - Participate in cross‑functional meetings to integrate HSE considerations into operational decisions. **Required Skills** - In‑depth knowledge of industrial HSE practices and legal/regulatory requirements. - Proficiency with ISO 14001 processes and continuous improvement methodology. - Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities. - Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills. - Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and root‑cause analyses. - Project management competence and ability to drive action plans to completion. - Adaptability to dynamic environments and willingness to engage in hands‑on field work. - High attention to detail and adherence to safety rigor. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field. - Valid professional certification in safety (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, OSHA, or equivalent) is preferred. - ISO 14001 Lead Auditor or equivalent environmental management certification is an advantage.
