**Job Title:** IT Manager
**Role Summary:**
Senior operational leader responsible for strategy, management, and continuous improvement of IT services across multiple higher‑education campuses. Leads a team of IT coordinators, coordinates with the central pension IT function, and ensures secure, compliant, and high‑quality digital delivery for students and staff.
**Expectations:**
* Deliver robust, secure, and scalable IT infrastructure.
* Foster a customer‑focused service culture.
* Drive cost‑effective budgeting, risk mitigation, and compliance.
* Build strong stakeholder relationships internally and with external vendors.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Leadership & Management** – Inspire, coach, and evaluate IT coordinators; allocate workloads; enforce consistent service standards.
2. **Strategy, Planning & Governance** – Develop operational plans aligned to institutional and parent‑group strategy; manage budgeting, forecasting, and asset lifecycle.
3. **Systems, Infrastructure & Security** – Oversee core systems (Microsoft 365, Moodle, Learning Platforms, AV, Wi‑Fi); implement cybersecurity measures, backups, disaster recovery, and access controls.
4. **Stakeholder & Vendor Management** – Act as main liaison with parent IT, audit coordination, contract negotiation, and vendor performance oversight.
5. **Service Delivery & User Support** – Supervise ticketing, email, and in‑person support ensuring SLAs; communicate outages, updates, and maintenance.
6. **Compliance, Health & Safety & Events** – Ensure GDPR, data‑security, and health‑safety compliance; provide IT support for exams, open days, and peak periods.
**Required Skills:**
* Leadership and people management across sites.
* Strategic planning, risk management, and budgeting.
* Technical proficiency: Microsoft 365, Moodle, learning platforms, AV/web conferencing, Wi‑Fi networking, system integration.
* Cybersecurity fundamentals (access management, backup, GDPR compliance).
* Vendor and stakeholder relations; contract negotiation.
* Strong communication and documentation.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
* Proven experience in senior IT support or management.
* Certifications (preferred): ITIL Foundation, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator or Microsoft 365, CISSP/CCSA and/or vendor‑specific (AV/PLC) certifications.
