Job Description
**Job Title** Embedded System Engineer (Intermediate Firmware Specialist) **Role Summary** Design, develop, integrate, and test reusable embedded firmware for lighting and building control products. Collaborate on firmware architecture, drive continuous improvement, and lead a small team of engineers while ensuring compliance with functional specifications and quality standards. **Expectations** - 5+ years of embedded firmware/software experience, preferably in an Agile environment. - Proven ability to design, debug, and validate firmware on microprocessor platforms with RTOS. - Strong leadership: mentor junior engineers, conduct interviews, assign tasks, and support performance management. - Excellent written and verbal English communication for cross‑functional collaboration. - Willingness to travel domestically and internationally on a limited basis. **Key Responsibilities** - Develop and review firmware architecture and specifications for embedded electronic products. - Design, implement, and debug hardware‑firmware integration to meet product requirements. - Evaluate and integrate firmware modules from internal teams or external partners. - Define and execute test methodologies, including automated regression testing. - Provide technical guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to team members. - Participate in talent acquisition, promotion, and salary recommendation processes. - Maintain documentation and present project status to engineering leadership. **Required Skills** - Proficient in C/C++ development for embedded systems. - Experience with Real‑Time Operating Systems (RTOS). - Ability to work with communication interfaces: RS‑232, RS‑485, TCP/IP, Bluetooth/BLE, 6LoWPAN, IR. - Strong analytical skills to interpret product specifications, APIs, and user guides. - Advanced use of Microsoft Office and ERP tools. - Project prioritization and multitasking in fast‑paced, changing environments. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (required). - Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (preferred). - No specific certifications listed; relevant industry certifications (e.g., Certified Embedded Engineer) are a plus.
