Job Description

Job Title: Full Stack JavaScript Developer Role Summary: Remote contract developer responsible for designing, building, and enhancing mass‑communications features in a SaaS platform for emergency response. Works full‑stack with React/Node, delivering end‑to‑end solutions. Expectations: 50/50 front‑end and back‑end focus; sprint‑ready, self‑directed in a fast‑moving startup environment; ability to take ownership of existing codebase and evolve it. Key Responsibilities: - Develop new features and refactor existing ones for the platform’s mass‑communications module. - Collaborate with product and engineering teams on technical planning and feature execution. - Write clean, maintainable, type‑safe code (TypeScript) for both client (React) and server (Node.js). - Integrate with AWS services as required. - Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment pipelines. - Mentor junior developers on best practices. Required Skills: - Proven full‑stack JavaScript experience (React, Node.js, TypeScript). - Strong frontend (CSS, responsive UI) and backend (RESTful/APIs, database) development skills. - Experience with real‑time systems (WebSockets, message queues). - Familiarity with communication/alert, lone‑worker, or tracking platforms is a plus. - Comfortable working in agile, startup or scale‑up settings; self‑motivated and proactive. - Ability to quickly understand and extend legacy code. - Version control (Git), CI/CD, and unit/integration testing practices. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience. - No mandatory certifications, but knowledge of AWS Certified Developer or similar is beneficial.
