As the industry’s European trade association, Cosmetics Europe's membership consists of:

Ranging from antiperspirants, dermo-cosmetics, fragrances, make-up and shampoos, to soaps, sunscreens and toothpastes, cosmetics and personal care products play an essential role in all stages of our life.

Job Description
Job title: Communications Manager Role Summary: Lead the day‑to‑day communications and media activities of a European trade association, driving integrated policy‑communication campaigns and high‑impact media outreach across diverse issues. Collaborate with public affairs, regulatory, and scientific teams to ensure consistent, authoritative messaging and strengthen the association’s EU policy influence. Expactations: 4–6 years of proven experience in association, NGO, EU institution, international company, or consultancy communication roles; strong academic background; deep understanding of EU policy‑making and cosmetics sector issues; excellent editorial and writing skills; ability to translate complex scientific and regulatory subjects into clear communication; hands‑on creation of visual and video content; event‑organisational experience; meticulous attention to detail; proactive, team‑orientated delivery; advanced CMS and social media platform proficiency; fluency in English required, additional European languages an asset. Key Responsibilities: • Design and support integrated communication campaigns focused on policy; • Develop messaging frameworks and narrative positioning for key issues; • Produce engaging content (toolkits, infographics, annual reports, op‑eds, website articles, social media posts); • Draft press releases and media statements; • Build and maintain journalist relationships and manage media inquiries; • Support internal committees and coordination of policy positions; • Oversee external designers and agencies; • Coordinate event‑related communications; • Ensure alignment and collaboration across internal teams. Required Skills: • Strategic communication planning and execution; • Strong written and spoken communications, including editorial and speechwriting; • Scientific and regulatory communication expertise; • Visual content creation with standard design and editing software; • Media relations and journalist engagement; • Stakeholder/relationship management; • Project and event management; • CMS & social media platform proficiency; • Detail orientation, organisational capability, and proactive teamwork.
