Job Title: Cloud Infrastructure Architect
Role Summary:
Design, implement, and govern secure, scalable hybrid cloud and on‑premises infrastructure. Set technical standards, embed secure‑by‑design principles, and drive automation and IaC across engineering, operations, and security teams.
Expectations:
- Deliver high‑availability, cost‑effective cloud architectures that meet performance, resilience, and regulatory requirements.
- Influence and enforce organization‑wide architecture standards and best practices.
- Partner with security, DevOps, engineering, and operations to ensure secure, compliant, and efficient solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and maintain cloud, security, and infrastructure architecture and standards.
- Design cloud‑native and hybrid solutions balancing performance, resilience, and cost.
- Collaborate with DevOps to implement automation and infrastructure‑as‑code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or Ansible.
- Ensure designs meet security, compliance, and operational expectations from inception.
- Plan lifecycle activities, including platform upgrades, rationalisation, and decommissioning.
- Advise on security tooling, identity management, and threat mitigation.
- Work with risk and information security to achieve regulatory and governance compliance.
- Contribute to cost optimisation and sustainable cloud design.
- Stay informed on emerging cloud, cyber, and infrastructure trends and recommend improvements.
Required Skills:
- Extensive experience in cloud, infrastructure, and security architecture.
- Proven success designing and governing secure, scalable hybrid environments.
- Deep knowledge of major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), networking, and identity management.
- Proficiency with automation tools (Terraform, ARM, Ansible, etc.) and IaC principles.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, able to explain complex technical risks clearly.
- Analytical, pragmatic mindset balancing innovation, performance, and cost.
- Familiarity with monitoring, lifecycle management, and licensing considerations.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Cloud architecture certification preferred (e.g., Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect).
- Security certifications desirable (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CCSP).
