Business Director, Planning & Strategy
**Role Summary**
Senior client‑leadership position on a fixed‑term maternity cover, responsible for commercial and strategic ownership of two high‑profile accounts. Embeds in client offices, delivers integrated media strategy, drives revenue growth, and leads a small internal team.
**Expectations**
- Deliver measurable business impact for the accounts.
- Maintain P&L ownership, forecasting accuracy, and upsell execution.
- Provide proactive, insight‑driven strategy and media solutions.
- Build and sustain trusted senior‑level client relationships.
- Lead and develop a team of senior managers and account executives.
- Represent the agency externally as a thought leader.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. **Client Leadership & Strategic Partnership**
- Act as primary senior client partner, embedding in client offices.
- Conduct regular C‑suite and senior stakeholder meetings.
- Offer strategic counsel, challenge briefs, and educate on market trends.
- Own senior client communications and agency representation.
2. **Commercial Ownership**
- Manage account P&L, revenue growth, and forecast accuracy.
- Drive commercial conversations, upsell opportunities, and financial governance.
- Report financial performance to senior leadership.
3. **Strategy & Planning Excellence**
- Design and deliver insight‑led, data‑driven media strategies (paid, earned, owned).
- Own strategic reviews (monthly, quarterly, annual) and narrative presentation.
- Lead econometric and effectiveness analyses; champion test‑and‑learn programmes.
4. **Integrated Agency Leadership**
- Coordinate across all agency partners; set roles and escalation processes.
- Oversee end‑to‑end delivery, briefs, RFPs, audits, and storytelling.
5. **New Business & Growth**
- Lead pitch processes, credentials presentations, and new business within existing accounts.
- Represent the agency in industry forums and events.
6. **Team Leadership & Development**
- Line‑manage two Senior Account Managers and oversee Account Executives.
- Allocate resources, manage workflow, and coach team members.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and knowledge sharing.
