**Job title**
Systems Engineer (Male/Female)
**Role Summary**
Operate, administer, and evolve virtualised server infrastructures. Provide L2/L3 support, automate routine tasks, manage backup and security, and drive infrastructure projects from design to validation. Maintain documentation and train support teams.
**Expectations**
* Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in systems engineering on virtualised platforms.
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (Bac+5) in computer science or engineering.
* Proven track record in technical architecture, design, and deployment of complex infrastructures.
* Strong analytical, proposal‑making, and cross‑team collaboration skills.
* Ability to work in regulated, safety‑critical environments (e.g., industrial, water sector).
**Key Responsibilities**
* Administer and maintain Hyper‑V, VMware, and Proxmox virtualised environments.
* Govern VM lifecycle: provisioning, cloning, migration, decommissioning.
* Deploy, configure, and update Windows Server and Linux production servers.
* Deliver Level 2/3 support for Windows and Linux environments.
* Monitor performance and conduct capacity planning for CPU, memory, storage, and networking.
* Automate repetitive tasks using PowerShell, Bash, and Ansible.
* Produce and maintain technical documentation (Design Specifications, Operational Guides).
* Train N1/N2 support staff to increase self‑service capability.
* Administer backup solutions (Veeam, NetBackup, Commvault); perform regular restore tests.
* Enforce security standards: account hygiene, system hardening, patch management, vulnerability remediation.
* Participate in technical and security audits.
* Lead or contribute to infrastructure projects: new installations, migrations, hardware refreshes, storage/network upgrades.
* Define and implement business continuity and disaster recovery plans (BCP, DR, Incident Response).
* Keep abreast of latest system technology trends and innovations.
**Required Skills**
* Expertise in Hyper‑V virtualization (and experience with VMware or Proxmox).
* Advanced proficiency with Windows Server and Linux server operating systems.
* Experience with PowerShell, Bash scripting, and Ansible automation.
* Strong background in backup administration (Veeam, NetBackup, Commvault).
* Knowledge of high‑availability concepts, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
* Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (VLANs, routing, firewalls).
* Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools.
* Cyber‑security awareness and ability to apply security best practices.
* Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
* Comfort working in industrial, regulated, or high‑availability environments.
**Required Education & Certifications**
* Bachelor’s degree (Bac+5) or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
* Professional certifications preferred: Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or similar.
