Job Description
**Job Title:** Jr. Systems Administrator **Role Summary:** Support IT infrastructure within a legal firm, assisting the IT Manager with administration, monitoring, and maintenance of on‑premises and cloud‑based systems. Manage network, servers, endpoints, and Microsoft 365 environments to ensure reliability, security, and availability. **Expactations:** - Work under IT Manager’s supervision. - Deliver timely, accurate system support in a fast‑paced legal setting. - Meet service‑level agreements for uptime, incident response, and ticket resolution. - Maintain professional, customer‑service oriented communication with non‑technical staff. **Key Responsibilities:** - Administer LAN, WAN, and cloud-connected networks, servers, workstations, and virtual infrastructure. - Monitor performance, availability, and security; review logs; respond to alerts and incidents. - Perform patching, upgrades, lifecycle management of hardware and software. - Administer Microsoft 365 services (Exchange, Entra ID/Azure AD, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams). - Manage identity and access: user provisioning, MFA enforcement, permission controls. - Configure and troubleshoot Windows and mobile endpoint devices. - Perform and verify data backups, disaster recovery tests, support business continuity. - Diagnose hardware, software, connectivity, and system issues; coordinate repairs. - Maintain email security, antivirus/endpoint protection, basic cybersecurity controls. - Communicate technical information clearly to attorneys and staff. - Assist with IT projects, documentation, and process improvements. **Required Skills:** - 2–4 years of IT support or junior systems administration experience. - Hands‑on Microsoft 365 and Windows‑based environment administration. - Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs. - Basic security concepts: MFA, endpoint protection, phishing awareness, access controls. - Strong verbal and written communication; customer‑service mindset. - Dependable, trustworthy, detail‑oriented, quick learner. - Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) preferred. - Certified or pursuing certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Fundamentals. - Experience in professional services or legal firm IT operations is a plus.
