Job Description
**Job Title:** IT Business Systems Analyst **Role Summary:** Analyzes, supports, and optimizes enterprise healthcare applications (e.g., CPSI, eClinicalWorks) to meet business and clinical workflow needs. Gathers requirements, designs solutions, creates custom reports, and participates in data‑analytics cycles while providing end‑user training and on‑call help‑desk support. **Expectations:** - Deliver timely technical support and training to non‑technical users. - Translate business needs into functional specifications and system enhancements. - Develop and maintain ad‑hoc and standard reports; advise on data structure and terminology. - Contribute to process‑improvement initiatives and project planning. - Serve as a liaison between vendors, IT teams, and clinical staff. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide tier‑1/2 support and on‑call coverage for core healthcare applications. - Conduct user training sessions and assist in creating training materials. - Gather and document business requirements for new or modified solutions. - Design, build, and maintain custom reports using Access, Excel, or equivalent tools. - Participate in performance improvement, core application, and project teams. - Analyze system data structures to enable effective querying and reporting. - Identify opportunities for standardization, consolidation, and efficiency gains. - Perform cost‑benefit analysis for IT initiatives and support project execution. - Serve as backup for Business Systems coordination/management functions. **Required Skills:** - Strong understanding of healthcare revenue cycle and accounting concepts. - Proficiency with Microsoft Access, Excel, and data‑mining techniques. - Business process analysis and flow‑charting expertise. - Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and critical‑thinking abilities. - Effective meeting facilitation and documentation (minutes, emails, follow‑up). - Superior verbal and written communication skills. - Highly organized with ability to manage multiple priorities. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Health Informatics, or a related field *or* equivalent combination of education and experience. - 3–5 years of IT experience within the healthcare industry, including implementation and support of enterprise systems. - No specific certifications mandated; relevant certifications (e.g., CHCIA, PMP, CBAP) are a plus.
