**Job title:** Junior Software Engineer
**Role Summary:** Assistant to design, develop, test, and support embedded and application software for missile flight control and subsystem integration. Works closely with systems engineering, hardware, guidance, and test teams to deliver compliant, real‑time solutions.
**Expectations:** Deliver high‑quality, safety‑critical software; maintain rigorous documentation; participate in Agile development cycles; uphold coding standards and security guidelines; obtain and maintain U.S. Secret clearance.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design, code, review, and modify C/C++ embedded software for flight controls and subsystems.
- Develop Windows‑based test programs, automation scripts, and GUIs for SIL, HWIL, integration, and qualification testing.
- Implement, optimize, and verify guidance, control, and signal‑processing algorithms.
- Support software‑hardware integration: debugging, interface definition, real‑time performance analysis.
- Execute unit, system, integration, and end‑to‑end tests; conduct code reviews; support flight‑worthiness verification.
- Perform root‑cause analysis, fault resolution, and configuration management.
- Produce and maintain MBSE‑aligned documentation (requirements, design, test plans, reports).
- Ensure compliance with security, coding standards, and customer guidelines.
**Required Skills:**
- Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded or real‑time systems.
- Experience in embedded software development, debugging tools, and version control (Git, GitHub).
- Knowledge of real‑time systems, multithreading, and basic software‑hardware interfacing.
- Familiarity with Agile (Kanban) workflows.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; effective cross‑functional collaboration.
- U.S. citizenship with current or achievable Secret clearance.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- No mandatory certifications, but familiarity with MBSE tools such as Cameo is a plus.
