We are a group of pub restaurants mainly based in the North West of England and North Wales, with a substantial branch of the family in the South.

Each pub has its own style and flavour, though you'll find good cask beers, freshly cooked food, decent and affordable wine and a good shelf of gins and malt whiskies throughout. We run informal places for people who like to meet, eat, drink and talk in a relaxed friendly atmosphere.

Job Description

Job Title: Mobile Application Developer Role Summary: Develop and maintain secure, reliable internal mobile applications that streamline operations for a hospitality organization. Work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams to design, code, test, and optimize features that improve efficiency and user experience across Android and iOS platforms. Expectations: * 3+ years of native mobile development experience. * Proven track record building business‑critical applications. * Proficiency in Kotlin/Java (Android) or Swift/Objective‑C (iOS). * Strong understanding of networking, data persistence, UI rendering, and performance optimisation. * Familiarity with AI‑assisted coding tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.). * Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable code. Key Responsibilities: * Contribute to architectural design and technology decisions for internal mobile apps. * Design, develop, and iterate core features and modules. * Collaborate with operational stakeholders to capture requirements and validate solutions. * Translate requirements into robust, scalable technical implementations. * Write clean, efficient, maintainable code and conduct peer code reviews. * Apply AI‑assisted development tools to accelerate coding and improve quality. * Continuously monitor and improve performance, security, usability, and reliability. * Participate in automated testing, continuous integration, and deployment pipelines. * Ensure applications comply with security best practices and data protection standards. Required Skills: * Native Android development (Kotlin/Java) and/or native iOS development (Swift/Objective‑C). * Experience with mobile networking (REST, gRPC, etc.) and offline data persistence. * Knowledge of UI frameworks, animation, and responsive design. * Familiarity with security concepts (encryption, secure storage, authentication). * Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks. * Demonstrated use of AI programming assistants in development workflow. Required Education & Certifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. * (Optional) Certifications in mobile development, secure coding, or related fields.
