**Job Title**
Consultant – SAS Data Engineering
**Role Summary**
Provide end‑to‑end data engineering consulting for enterprise clients, delivering data solutions that support analytics, machine learning, and business intelligence initiatives. Lead design, development, deployment, and optimization of data pipelines, data warehouses, and reporting layers across cloud and on‑premises environments, while ensuring data quality, governance, and scalability.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Engage with clients to gather requirements, define architecture, and develop solution roadmaps.
- Design and build ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, and professional ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, Datastage, Alteryx).
- Implement data warehouses and lakehouses on Snowflake, Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, or GCP BigQuery; integrate with Databricks.
- Develop BI dashboards in Tableau or Power BI; translate business requirements into visual reports.
- Ensure data quality, lineage, and governance through automated validation and metadata capture.
- Maintain and enhance SAS EG, DI, and Viya solutions for data processing, analytics, and forecasting.
- Apply development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, DevOps) to manage project lifecycle and deliverables.
- Mentor junior consultants, conduct knowledge transfer, and support talent development.
- Stay current on industry standards, regulations, and emerging technologies.
**Required Skills**
- Programming: Python, SQL (complex queries).
- Data Engineering: ETL design, data modeling, schema design, performance tuning.
- Analytics & BI: Tableau, Power BI, SAS (EG, DI, Viya).
- Cloud Platforms: Azure, AWS, GCP, Snowflake, Databricks.
- Enterprise ETL Tools: Informatica, Talend, Datastage, Alteryx.
- Big Data: Hadoop, Spark, Scala.
- Databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL.
- CRM / Process Automation: Salesforce, Pega.
- Development Methodologies: Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, DevOps, CI/CD, testing.
- Soft Skills: Client engagement, negotiation, presentation, teamwork, leadership, problem solving, continuous learning.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related discipline (equivalent work experience acceptable).
- Professional certifications highly desirable: SAS Certified Advanced Analytics Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty, Google Professional Data Engineer, Informatica Data Integration Level 1, Tableau Desktop Specialist, PMP, Scrum Master.
