Job Title: Junior Data Engineer – Financial Data Platform
**Role Summary**
Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines that transform fragmented financial data into reliable, reusable datasets. Drive product‑centric data lifecycle management, oversee quality standards, and collaborate across finance, product, and data science teams to deliver trusted financial insights at scale.
**Expectations**
- Deliver robust, production‑ready pipelines handling billions of records.
- Own data product lifecycle: source, clean, document, expose, and monitor.
- Champion data quality, engineering standards, and reusable abstractions.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Continuously improve processes and tooling for broader team adoption.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Build and maintain core datasets for key financial domains (Premium, Ads, Royalties).
- Design and prototype scalable ETL/ELT pipelines on cloud platforms.
- Create data models and abstractions that simplify complex financial concepts.
- Develop libraries, tooling, and documentation to enable on‑demand financial data consumption.
- Collaborate with data scientists, finance analysts, and product managers to understand and satisfy consumer data needs.
- Enforce data quality checks, monitoring, and notification mechanisms.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
**Required Skills**
- Proficiency with JVM‑based processing frameworks (Apache Flink, Apache Beam, Dataflow, Apache Spark).
- Strong experience with SQL and cloud data warehouses (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake).
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform services (Dataflow, BigQuery, Pub/Sub).
- Solid data modeling and analytical skills; treat data as a product.
- Clean code writing, version control (Git), and CI/CD practices.
- Ability to work autonomously in ambiguous environments and communicate insights clearly.
- Team collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Statistics, or related field.
- Valid certifications in data engineering or cloud platforms (e.g., GCP Data Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect, or equivalent) are desirable but not mandatory.
