Job title: Site Engineer Role Summary: Provide on‑site engineering support to a nuclear redevelopment project, ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance with technical and safety standards. Expectations: Maintain high workmanship standards, deliver accurate setting‑out, resolve technical queries, and adhere to stringent security clearance requirements. Key Responsibilities: - Record and test workmanship and materials (e.g., drainage, concrete, piling, brickwork). - Offer engineering support to overcome technical issues and answer queries. - Execute setting‑out within allowable tolerances; verify benchmark points and ensure calibrated instruments are on site. - Maintain dimensional control for accurate construction of works. Required Skills: - Proficiency with Leica survey equipment (GPS, total station, optical & digital levels). - Strong understanding of setting‑out, benchmarking, and dimensional control. - Ability to record, calibrate, and track equipment and material testing. - Effective communication to provide technical support and problem resolution. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor or higher degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, or equivalent (BSc, BA, BEng, MEng, etc.) – preferred. - Completion of a Higher Apprenticeship in a related field is acceptable. - BPSS level security clearance (or similar high‑security clearance; UK residency for 5 years, EU/NATO/5‑Eyes/MISWG passport required). Customer-facing and project coordination experience is advantageous.

Job Description
**Job Title:** Summer Placement Student – Mechanical Engineer **Role Summary:** Mechanical Engineering student to support the design and implementation of mechanical systems for a water treatment plant project. The placement lasts 8 weeks (40 hrs/week), offering practical experience in a construction and infrastructure environment. **Expectations:** - Completed an 8‑week summer placement during July‑August. - Able to return to university upon completion. - No sponsorship or long‑term employment offered. **Key Responsibilities:** - Assist in design and development of mechanical systems for the project. - Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and reports. - Conduct site visits to monitor progress, verify compliance with design and safety standards, and ensure quality. - Support compliance with applicable regulations, industry standards, and company policies. **Required Skills:** - Strong numerical and analytical abilities. - Written and verbal communication skills. - Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. - (Optional) Full driving licence. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering or related undergraduate degree. - Current student status with a commitment to return to studies after the placement. ---
