**Job Title:** Principal Computer Vision Scientist
**Role Summary:**
Lead the development of foundation models for cellular imaging and multimodal biological data. Drive the integration of generative AI into early-stage drug discovery, overseeing research, model design, deployment, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
**Expectations:**
- Direct independent research on vision and multimodal models with a clear impact on target and biomarker discovery.
- Translate research results into actionable insights for drug development.
- Maintain publication quality, software standards, and stakeholder communication.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design, develop, and deploy next‑generation AI/ML models for cellular imaging and multimodal biomedical data.
- Define strategy for integrating generative AI into early‑stage drug discovery workflows.
- Advance state‑of‑the‑art in computer vision, deep learning, representation learning, and foundation models.
- Communicate findings via internal reports, executive briefings, and peer‑reviewed papers.
- Build and maintain collaborations with academic and industry partners.
**Required Skills:**
- PhD in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Physics, or a related field.
- Hands‑on experience pretraining/fine‑tuning foundation models for computer vision.
- Strong publication record in top conferences (CVPR, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML).
- Expertise in multimodal representation learning, preferably applied to biological or pharmaceutical data.
- Advanced Python proficiency; deep experience with PyTorch, Hugging Face, PyTorch Lightning, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in modern software engineering practices: Git, CI/CD, testing, and contemporary Python tooling (e.g., uv).
- Ability to lead independent research while thriving in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
**Additional Advantageous Experience:**
- High‑content screening, high‑throughput perturbative experiments, single‑cell RNA‑seq, or related data modalities.
- Large‑scale model training/deployment on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Nvidia DGX Cloud).
- Systems modeling, biophysics, or causal inference in computational biology.
- Writing well‑tested, well‑documented ML code following best practices for maintainable research software.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- PhD in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Physics, or a closely related discipline.
