Job Title: Principal Quality Engineer
Role Summary:
Owner of supplier quality oversight and verification for complex, high‑risk procurements, ensuring all externally sourced products meet Westinghouse engineering, regulatory, and customer requirements. Leads cross‑functional teams, develops advanced QA plans, and maintains supplier qualification and compliance documentation.
Expectations:
- Lead and mentor a team of senior and junior quality engineers in supplier oversight and resolution of quality issues.
- Own end‑to‑end supplier QA programs, from bid review to certification documentation, ensuring compliance with NRC, ISO, and customer standards.
- Deliver projects within budget and schedule while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mentor and develop oversight personnel in verification, supplier oversight, and issue resolution.
- Manage cross‑disciplinary teams to verify suppliers’ Quality Assurance Programs and adherence to technical specifications.
- Develop and implement surveillance and oversight plans for complex, first‑of‑a‑kind procurements.
- Lead resolution of complex supplier quality issues and perform corrective action follow‑up.
- Conduct verification and acceptance activities to confirm supplier conformance to purchase order requirements.
- Coordinate multi‑area projects, monitor progress, and ensure quality targets are met.
- Create certification documents defining compliance with codes, standards, and customer specifications for major equipment and components.
- Assess global supply base for regulatory, code, and standard compliance.
- Evaluate supplier quality plans, process controls, and technical documentation.
- Review procurement documents for technical and quality translation accuracy.
- Apply advanced statistical methods to defect data, identify root causes, and measure QA program effectiveness.
- Provide supplier qualification/development input to business development and supply chain.
- Draft detailed QA plans/programs per NRC, Westinghouse, and customer QA standards.
- Serve as primary supplier quality interface for bid specifications, licensing write‑ups, proposals, purchase orders, and submittals, identifying deviations and recommending solutions.
- Investigate and report on technical specification compliance, inspect non‑destructive test procedures, and perform precision measurements on complex components and systems.
Required Skills:

Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (required).
- 5+ years of supplier oversight experience (required).
- NQA‑1 Certified Lead Auditor (preferred).
- ANSI 45.2.23/NQA‑1 Lead Auditor qualification (required).
- ANSI N45.2.9/NQA‑1 Inspector qualification (required).
- Working knowledge of US NRC Regulations (10CFR50 Appendix B, 10CFR21) and European/ national QA standards.
