Job Description
Job Title: Senior Robotics Software Engineer Role Summary: Design, develop, and validate sophisticated robotic manipulation algorithms for a next‑generation colonoscopy platform. Lead the development of embedded and application‑level software, ensuring real‑time performance, safety, and regulatory compliance. Mentor junior engineers and collaborate across hardware, firmware, and systems teams to translate requirements into robust software solutions. Expectations: Deliver high‑quality, compliant robotic software that meets medical device standards (IEC 62304, ISO 13485). Maintain thorough documentation for regulatory submissions and risk management. Travel occasionally to the EU and USA without a visa. Demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills in a multidisciplinary environment. Key Responsibilities: - Architect, code, and test real‑time robotic control, motion planning, and perception algorithms. - Translate product requirements into detailed software specifications and development plans. - Own critical subsystems, continuously enhancing device capabilities. - Conduct software verification and validation, documenting procedures per medical device regulations. - Maintain comprehensive design, test, and risk‑management documentation. - Participate in code and design reviews, ensuring traceability and quality. - Mentor peers and provide design guidance through code reviews. - Troubleshoot and debug complex issues in collaboration with cross‑functional teams. Required Skills: - Expertise in robotic manipulation algorithms (motion planning, control, perception). - Proficiency in C++ and Python for embedded and application software. - Experience with real‑time embedded systems and automated testing frameworks. - Strong knowledge of medical device standards (IEC 62304, ISO 13485, ISO 14971). - Familiarity with risk management, regulatory submissions (DHF, Tech File), and quality assurance processes. - Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Required Education & Certifications: - Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). - Demonstrated experience in regulated medical device software development. - Knowledge of ISO 13485, MDD/IVDD, IEC 60601x, and ISO 14971 preferred.
