**Job title:** Cropping Lead
**Role Summary:**
Lead and manage all growing‑management agronomy programs at a Continuous Nursery/Trait Introgression site, optimizing irrigation, fertilization, climate, pest control, and young plant production for a diverse vegetable seed portfolio. Drive continuous improvement, digitalisation of field data, and integration of new technologies to deliver high‑quality trials and products on schedule.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver culturally best‑practice agronomic programs aligned with R&D strategy.
- Meet quality, quantity, and deadline targets for nursery production and trials.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team, mentor staff, and maintain safety, quality, and compliance standards.
- Use data analytics to inform decisions, reduce cycle times, and enhance resource efficiency.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Directly manage irrigation, fertilization, climate, pest management, and trial protocols.
- Oversee production of young plants, ensuring deadlines and quality.
- Participate in research, process‑improvement, and introduction of new technologies.
- Propose and justify investments in infrastructure and capabilities.
- Own trial and nursery delivery metrics (quality, quantity, timelines).
- Coordinate staff and third‑party labor and maintain documentation and training.
- Implement digital field‑data systems and act as the FPR project representative.
- Coach, mentor, and support employee development; contribute to talent initiatives.
- Continually monitor and improve site operations for accuracy, capacity, and resource use.

**Required Education & Certifications:**
- M.S. in Agronomy, Plant Sciences, or related field, **or** B.S. with ≥ 5 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated history of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
