Job Description

**Job Title** Automation Engineer – Design Office (M/F) **Role Summary** Design, develop, and commission industrial automation systems within the Automation & Industrial IT Design Office. Produce functional and technical analyses, define system architecture, program controllers and operator interfaces, perform validation tests, and support on‑site commissioning and client training. Travel to regional sites as required. **Expectations** - Deliver projects on schedule with high quality and compliance. - Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and maintain strong client relationships. - Proactively propose technical improvements and ensure thorough documentation. - Adapt to field deployments and provide on‑site support and training. **Key Responsibilities** - Write functional and organic analyses for automation projects. - Define automation architecture and select appropriate hardware. - Develop PLC programs and operator HMI interfaces. - Conduct validation tests in the workshop and at client sites. - Perform commissioning and start‑up of systems on customer premises. - Deliver training to client operators and technicians. - Provide technical support during and after project hand‑over. **Required Skills** - Strong knowledge of industrial automation and PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, Schneider). - Experience with HMI/SCADA development and integration. - Ability to create functional specifications and technical documentation. - Competence in system testing, validation, and on‑site commissioning. - Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities. - Good communication skills and a team‑oriented mindset. - Willingness to travel regionally for project execution. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Automation, Industrial Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. - Professional experience (1–3 years) in a similar automation design/implementation role. - Relevant certifications (e.g., PLC programming, functional safety) are a plus but not mandatory.
