Job Description
**Job Title:** Project Manager – Industrial Automation **Role Summary:** Lead and manage a portfolio of complex, high‑value industrial automation projects from proposal through commissioning, ensuring contractual, technical, and commercial requirements are met on time, within budget and to stakeholder expectations. **Expectations:** - Deliver projects that meet quality, safety, schedule and budget targets. - Communicate status, risks and issues to senior leadership and stakeholders in a timely and transparent manner. - Foster a high‑performance project culture, mentoring junior team members. **Key Responsibilities:** - Gather, review and document contractual, commercial and technical requirements from sales and proposal stages. - Establish clear task ownership, schedule, and resource allocation; provide tools and feedback to teams. - Plan and engage engineering resources, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations and customer expectations. - Maintain effective communication with customers, project teams and senior directors; conduct regular stakeholder status meetings. - Troubleshoot technical issues and appropriately escalate. - Monitor stage payments, control costs, and approve subcontractor and supplier payments within contract limits. - Manage documentation exchange (soft and hard copies), transmittals and official document tracking. - Identify and resolve project issues, ensuring productivity, quality and customer satisfaction. - Expedite product and component delivery, securing quality and timely arrival. - Organise and attend FAT, site surveys, installation and commissioning meetings, ensuring compliance with H&S and schedule. - Manage change orders, negotiate additional pricing with customers. - Mentor and support junior project staff, including PMs and coordinators. **Required Skills:** - Project management framework and best‑practice knowledge. - Proficient in MS Office and MS Project; solid Excel and PowerPoint skills. - Strong verbal and written communication in English. - Ability to coordinate cross‑functional teams and negotiate with stakeholders. - Problem‑solving, proactive decision‑making, and situational adaptability. - Hands‑on technical attitude and confidence in engineering environments. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or related field). - Formal project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent). - Experience in industrial automation, with prior roles as proposal engineer, procurement manager, or project manager. ---
