**Job title:**
2nd Line Support Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Provide on‑site second‑line technical support for an enterprise IT infrastructure, troubleshooting servers, desktops, networking, and virtualization environments. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to maintain operational efficiency, train end users, and execute project tasks while ensuring compliance with IT policies and standards.
**Expectations:**
- Work onsite, 5 days a week.
- Deliver timely, effective resolution of complex incidents.
- Communicate status and solutions clearly to stakeholders.
- Participate in continuous improvement and project initiatives.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Deliver second‑line support for Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and related infrastructure services.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues on VMware or Hyper‑V virtualized environments.
- Provide desktop support for Windows 10/11, Office 365, and peripheral devices.
- Configure and manage networking components (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs).
- Utilize ITSM tools and ticketing systems to log, track, and close incidents.
- Conduct user training and create support documentation.
- Maintain infrastructure health through monitoring, patching, and preventive maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with security, data protection, and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to IT projects, process improvements, and technology deployments.
**Required Skills:**
- Proven experience in a 2nd line support or equivalent role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
- Proficiency with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V).
- Desktop support expertise for Windows 10/11 and Office 365.
- Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLAN.
- Familiarity with ITSM tools and ticketing systems.
- Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Minimum: High‑school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, VCP, or VMware Certified Professional are a plus but not mandatory.
