AI Engineering Intern – Product Development Focus
**Role Summary**
Intern will support the end‑to‑end development of AI‑driven product features for a portfolio of vertical‑market SaaS companies. Work under senior AI engineers and product leaders to prototype, evaluate, and deploy machine‑learning models that enhance personalization, recommendation, fraud detection, chatbot, and other interactive capabilities. Focus on rapid iteration, integration into production stacks, and data‑driven product insights.
**Expectations**
- Deliver functional ML prototypes and incremental improvements within agile sprints.
- Collaborate with full‑stack engineers to integrate models into APIs and front‑end applications.
- Conduct data analysis, A/B testing, and performance monitoring to validate feature impact.
- Maintain clear documentation for model assumptions, datasets, evaluation metrics, and deployment processes.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Prototype and refine AI/ML features (personalization, recommendations, search, fraud detection, chatbots).
2. Translate product requirements into technical solutions under guidance of senior engineers.
3. Deploy models to production environments using cloud ML services (AWS SageMaker, GCP Vertex AI, Azure ML).
4. Build inference pipelines, API endpoints, and micro‑services (FastAPI, Flask, Docker).
5. Perform A/B tests, feature flagging, and analytics to measure KPI outcomes.
6. Analyze user feedback and usage data to inform iterative enhancements.
7. Document data sources, evaluation procedures, and performance results.
8. Participate in daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, and cross‑functional demos.
9. Ensure compliance with quality, privacy, and bias‑mitigation standards in AI solutions.
**Required Skills**
- Proficiency in Python and ML libraries (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit‑learn).
- Experience with LLM/embedding APIs (HuggingFace, OpenAI).
- Familiarity with cloud ML platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and web frameworks (FastAPI/Flask).
- Strong analytical skills: data wrangling, statistical analysis, A/B testing.
- Agile development mindset and excellent written/verbal communication.
- Basic understanding of responsible AI principles (bias, transparency, privacy).
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Current enrollment or recent completion of a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- Optional certifications in ML platforms or product analytics are a plus.
