**Job Title**
DevOps Engineer
**Role Summary**
Lead the design, implementation, and operation of a cloud‑native platform on AWS, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security for mission‑critical applications. Own infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and observability tooling within a DevOps‑centric team.
**Expectations**
- Deliver end‑to‑end platform solutions that meet reliability standards for sectors such as emergency services, healthcare, and critical infrastructure.
- Maintain a secure, automated, and resilient environment that supports rapid deployment and incident response.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with development, security, and operations teams to embed best practices.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design, provision, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure, including EC2, EKS, RDS, VPCs, and IAM.
- Manage Kubernetes (Amazon EKS) workloads: deployment, ingress, TLS, service meshes, and load balancing.
- Package and deploy applications via Docker, integrating with container registries and ArgoCD or equivalent GitOps tools.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automating build, test, and release workflows.
- Provision infrastructure as code using Terraform; apply version control and change management.
- Administer backend data services: Redis, Kafka (Amazon MSK), and PostgreSQL on RDS, optimizing performance, backups, and disaster recovery.
- Implement observability: CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and logging/auditing with CloudTrail, VPC Flow Logs.
- Enforce security controls, conduct vulnerability assessments, and comply with OWASP, SOC 2, ISO 27001 frameworks.
- Draft and maintain architecture, process, and incident documentation.
**Required Skills**
- 5+ years as a DevOps Engineer, Platform Engineer, or Site Reliability Engineer.
- Deep expertise with AWS services (EKS, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM, CloudTrail).
- Proficiency in Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD (ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).
- Strong Terraform experience; scripting in Python or similar.
- Experience managing Redis, Kafka (MSK), and PostgreSQL.
- Comprehensive knowledge of cloud security, monitoring, logging, and automation.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards (OWASP, SOC 2, ISO 27001) and vulnerability scanning tools.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or equivalent.
- Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) certification highly desirable.
