Job Description
**Job Title**: Business Intelligence Analyst **Role Summary** Design, build, and maintain data solutions that enable product teams to measure adoption, evaluate impact, and drive strategy for a communications platform used by NHS care providers. Provide analytical insight, data‑driven storytelling, and self‑service tools for internal and external stakeholders. **Expectations** - Deliver actionable insights that support strategic decisions across the organization. - Create and evolve BI artifacts (reports, dashboards, dataflows) that meet the needs of both business users and external clients. - Foster a culture of data‑driven decision‑making by enabling self‑service and providing training on BI tools. **Key Responsibilities** - Build and deploy end‑to‑end Power BI reports and dashboards for internal teams and external partners. - Develop and maintain Power BI dataflows and quality gates using DAX and M. - Write efficient SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data from source systems. - Translate product usage data into clear, visual narratives that illustrate performance, growth, and user value. - Collaborate with Data Engineering to integrate new data assets and optimize data pipelines. - Manage data governance practices, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance across BI deliverables. - Conduct stakeholder workshops to understand requirements, demonstrate artifacts, and gather feedback. - Drive continuous improvement of BI capabilities, moving from static reports to predictive, interactive visualizations. **Required Skills** - Proficient with Power BI (desktop, service, shared datasets, dataflows). - Strong DAX writing capability and experience with Power BI performance tuning. - Advanced SQL skills for data exploration and ETL support. - Expertise in data storytelling: ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights. - Solid understanding of data governance, security, and data quality best practices. - Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills. - Experience collaborating in cross‑functional BI teams and commercial environments. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or related field. - Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate (Power BI) or equivalent preferred.
