Job title: Senior Analytics Engineer I
Role Summary:
Build and maintain scalable, accurate data models to simplify complex source data, partner with business and data science teams to define core metrics, promote best‑practice data modeling, and educate stakeholders on effective use of tooling and models.
Expactations:
- 4+ years of experience in analytics or engineering, preferably in finance, SaaS or data‑centric environments.
- Strong attention to detail, quick at identifying and correcting data inconsistencies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proactive, customer‑centric, with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Curiosity to understand underlying business logic and translate it into scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain flexible, scalable data models in modern data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
- Collaborate with BI, Sales, Product, and other functions to identify, document, and deliver cross‑company core metrics.
- Promote and enforce data modeling best practices (star/snowflake schemas, dimensional modeling).
- Create documentation, training materials, and workshops for internal partners.
- Monitor data quality, detect anomalies, and implement corrective actions.
- Work closely with Data Engineering and Data Science teams to align pipelines and analytical requirements.
- Support ad‑hoc analytical requests, ensuring reproducible and accurate results.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of analytics engineering frameworks and tooling.
- Participate in architecture discussions for future platform enhancements.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL and modern data warehouse environments.
- Knowledge of data modeling concepts and best practices.
- Experience with ETL/ELT tools (dbt, Airflow, Stitch, Fivetran).
- Familiarity with BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience with sales/CRM data (e.g., Salesforce) advantageous.
- Passion for data quality, metadata management, and documentation.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications in SQL, dbt, Snowflake, or other data‑engineering platforms are beneficial but not mandatory.
