Job Description
**Job Title** Fire & Security Installation Engineer **Role Summary** Deploy, commission, and verify fire and security systems on construction sites, ensuring compliance with British Standards and client specifications. Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and design teams to deliver fully operational, safe systems on schedule. **Expectations** - Deliver fully compliant, operational fire and security installations within defined scope and timeframe. - Maintain high installation and commissioning standards with subcontractors and suppliers. - Demonstrate completed systems to clients during handover, ensuring all documentation is accurate and timely. - Uphold health & safety regulations and best practices on site. **Key Responsibilities** - Support Project Manager in meeting project delivery targets for fire and security systems. - Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to maintain installation standards. - Conduct fault‑finding, diagnostics, and final adjustments to satisfy client expectations. - Verify system tests, documentation, and handover demonstrations. - Resolve installation or performance issues in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. - Complete and submit commissioning paperwork accurately. - Adhere to health & safety policies and legal requirements on-site. - Provide technical support and liaise with design teams as needed. **Required Skills** - Recognised qualification or apprenticeship in fire & security systems installation. - Health & safety training (e.g., CSCS, IPAF, Manual Handling). - Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). - Strong communication, reporting, and teamwork abilities. - Ability to manage workload, deadlines, and organisational tasks. - Risk identification and mitigation in technical and safety contexts. **Required Education & Certifications** - Trade qualification or apprenticeship in fire & security systems. - Health & Safety certificate (CSCS, IPAF, Manual Handling or equivalent). - (Optional) 5+ years of industry experience, prior commissioning role, IT networking, or integrated security systems knowledge.

Job Title: Fire & Security Engineer (Service) Role Summary: Deliver planned preventive maintenance, reactive maintenance, and emergency support for fire alarms, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems. Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, maintain accurate documentation, and support continuous service improvement and contract growth. Expectations: - Perform routine and ad‑hoc maintenance on fire and security systems. - Diagnose faults, conduct repairs, and recommend upgrades. - Respond to emergencies and participate in on‑call rota. - Align work with industry standards and contractual obligations. Key Responsibilities: - Execute scheduled PPM tasks in line with industry best practices. - Respond promptly to breakdowns, reactive calls, and emergencies. - Troubleshoot and repair fire alarm, CCTV (IP & analogue), access control, and intruder alarm installations. - Maintain up‑to‑date job reports, asset records, and compliance documentation. - Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and system manufacturers. - Identify opportunities for system improvements and upgrades. - Support other trade teams on‑site as required. - Contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives and contract expansion. Required Skills: - Strong fault‑finding and repair skills for fire alarms, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarms. - Proficiency in reading and interpreting system schematics and maintenance schedules. - Excellent communication, teamwork, and customer service abilities. - Planning, organization, and time‑management skills. - Commercial awareness of cost and efficiency impacts. - Risk identification and mitigation practices. - Self‑motivation and proactive problem‑solving. Required Education & Certifications: - Recognized Fire & Security apprenticeship or equivalent experience. - Health & Safety training (e.g., Manual Handling, Working at Height). - Certifications in fire alarm systems, IP and analogue CCTV. - Current ECS Card with Chapter 8 awareness. - IPAF training. - Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English. - Desirable: City & Guilds 2360 Part 3 or equivalent, IT/networking knowledge related to security systems, supervisory experience or ambition.
