**Job Title**
Data and Image Analysis Platform Lead
**Role Summary**
Lead the definition, implementation, and support of advanced image‑analysis and data‑analysis workflows for a multidisciplinary research platform. Drive software development, user training, and scientific innovation while ensuring technical, financial, and safety compliance.
**Expectations**
- Deliver robust, reproducible image‑analysis pipelines and data‑processing solutions.
- Provide expert guidance to researchers on methodology, interpretation, and tool usage.
- Manage technical resources, budgets, and personnel within the platform.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design and refine data‑analysis strategies in collaboration with platform users.
- Implement chosen strategies using domain‑specific software and develop bespoke tools.
- Develop and maintain software packages (plugins, scripts) for image analysis.
- Conduct advanced image‑analysis and machine‑learning methods (segmentation, tracking, classification, CNNs).
- Train platform users and collaborators on tools, workflows, and best practices.
- Author technical notes, tutorials, and documentation for image‑analysis methods.
- Advise users on technical feasibility, limitations, and interpretation of results.
- Participate in budgeting, resource planning, and equipment scheduling.
- Oversee collective usage of instruments and workstations.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of scientific and technological advances in imaging and data analytics.
- Enforce hygiene, safety, and regulatory standards.
**Required Skills**
- Expert proficiency in image‑analysis software (Matlab, Imaris, Fiji/ImageJ, Icy, Napari, QuPath).
- Advanced programming in Python, MATLAB, Java, C/C++.
- Experience with supervised machine learning, CNNs, and deep‑learning frameworks (OpenCV, Scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Strong knowledge of conventional image‑analysis algorithms (segmentation, object tracking, shape recognition).
- Familiarity with OMERO image‑database server architecture and image‑data deployment.
- Linux system administration and plugin development for Fiji/ImageJ and QuPath.
- Analytical reasoning, creativity, and innovation orientation.
- English language proficiency at C1 level.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Advanced degree (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics, or related field.
- Professional certifications in machine‑learning or image‑analysis (e.g., TensorFlow Developer Certificate, MATLAB Certified Professional) preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in a research or industrial setting managing image‑analysis pipelines and software development.
