Job Description

Job Title: Network Engineer (Data Center) Role Summary: Support and enhance data center network operations by provisioning, configuring, and maintaining hardware and software components. Plan capacity, troubleshoot issues, and enforce best practices to ensure reliable, scalable infrastructure. Expectations: - Part‑time, hourly role - Deliver high‑quality service in a fast‑paced environment - Communicate effectively in French and English Key Responsibilities: - Plan and optimize rack/ server layouts; forecast capacity growth - Provision, configure, and deploy servers, network, and infrastructure gear in staging/production - Monitor utilization, troubleshoot hardware issues, and manage vendor RMAs to reduce downtime - Implement and enforce data center best practices for security and efficiency - Handle inventory of sensitive hardware, maintain accurate records - Perform OS and hardware maintenance on Windows, macOS, Linux (drive replacement, diagnostics) - Conduct server installations: unboxing, rack mounting, IP/RAID configuration, network connectivity - Manage order tickets, update documentation, retain terminology accuracy - Stay current on industry trends, new technologies, and certification standards Required Skills: - Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, networking protocols, hardware, and server environments - Proficient in Windows, macOS, Linux server management and maintenance - Excellent troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and organizational skills - Able to work independently and within a team, managing multiple tasks efficiently - Effective verbal and written communication in both French and English Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field - Professional certifications such as CCNA (or equivalent) preferred - Continuous training and up‑to‑date technical knowledge.
