Act as the technical authority across firmware, UI/UX, and power‑systems teams to deliver cloud‑native, multi‑vendor solutions aligned with industry standards and customer needs.
**Expectations**
- Deliver end‑to‑end software solutions that achieve performance, resilience, and maintainability.
- Drive adoption of secure development practices and DevSecOps across the product line.
- Mentor distributed engineering teams, champion technical excellence, and represent the firm in customer and industry forums.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Define architecture and evolution of modular, secure platforms for device configuration, substation engineering, and grid automation.
- Design cloud‑native solutions using .NET, Java, Python, and TypeScript for desktop, edge, and cloud deployments.
- Integrate IEC 61850 workflows (SCL, ICD, SCD, SSD) into automated tooling with modern UI/UX and API design.
- Act as the authority linking firmware, UI/UX, and power‑systems teams for cohesive system design.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, systems, and hardware architects to embed secure development and DevSecOps practices.
- Promote reuse of software components across product lines to reduce duplication and accelerate delivery.
- Oversee lifecycle of configuration and commissioning tools, ensuring integration with SCADA/DMS/EMS and utility systems.
- Conduct architecture reviews, enforce compliance with IEC 61850, IEC 61968/70, CIM, and IEC 62351 standards.
- Partner with customers and internal architects to deliver reliable, visibility‑enhanced grid solutions.
- Monitor emerging technologies (cloud services, model‑driven engineering, AI/ML) and contribute to technology roadmaps and IP creation.
- Mentor engineers, foster innovation, and engage in RFPs and industry events.
**Required Skills**
- Proven experience designing and delivering software for T&D systems, energy automation, or industrial control domains.
- Deep knowledge of IEC 61850, CIM, IEC 61968/70, and IEC 62351 standards.
- Proficiency with modern programming languages (.NET, Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript) and cloud‑native technologies (containers, orchestration).
- Expertise in data modeling, API integration, network communication, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Familiarity with configuration management, substation design tools, and SCADA/DMS/EMS integration.
- Strong leadership, communication, and influence skills within a matrixed, global organization.
- Analytical problem‑solving mindset focused on customer value and quality outcomes.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in technical leadership or architecture roles.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CSM, or relevant utility/energy certifications) are a plus.
