Job Description
**Job title** Engineering Manager – Purchasing Team **Role Summary** Lead a team of 7+ engineers to deliver and evolve the purchasing product. Manage engineering operations, product development, and team growth while ensuring alignment with product goals, fostering a collaborative culture, and continuously improving processes and delivery quality. **Expactations** - Deliver engineering output on schedule, maintaining high quality and reliability. - Coach and develop team members’ technical and professional growth. - Guide the team through iterative product development from concept to production. - Balance structure and flexibility to optimize efficiency and team autonomy. **Key Responsibilities** - Manage day‑to‑day engineering operations within the Purchasing team. - Mentor and coach engineers, supporting career development and skill improvement. - Collaborate closely with the Product Manager to align priorities, clarify requirements, and maintain seamless communication. - Represent team needs and insights in the Engineering Management leadership group. - Shape team rituals, culture, and ways of working to enhance productivity and satisfaction. - Continuously assess and refine engineering processes, adding or simplifying structure as appropriate. **Required Skills** - 5+ years of experience building software products. - Strong background in software development and architecture fundamentals. - Proven ability to deliver features iteratively from idea to production, avoiding large‑bang releases. - Experience in modern application domains (frontend, mobile, backend, search, data storage, SRE). - Aptitude for breaking down complex problems into manageable work packages. - Excellent written and verbal communication; skilled at presenting complex technical concepts concisely. - Demonstrated success in driving a team toward committed delivery. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience). - Agile/Scrum or similar project‑management certification is a plus but not mandatory.
