**Job Title:** Data Center Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Design, install, and maintain data center infrastructure, ensuring safe, reliable operation of power, networking, and cabling systems. Coordinate physical setup of racks and cabinets, perform site audits, and troubleshoot equipment and cabling issues.
**Expectations:**
- Execute detailed engineering drawings and documentation for data center installations.
- Perform installation and testing of power, grounding, and network cabling.
- Maintain optimal performance of DWDM, fiber, and copper interconnects.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Create engineering and infrastructure diagrams (MOPS).
- Install rectifiers, fuse panels, high‑density patch panels, and rack/cabinet hardware on raised and slap floors.
- Run DC power cables and connect to Mini‑BDFBs, following safety and grounding standards.
- Install, terminate, and test copper and fibre optic cabling, including inter‑link interconnects.
- Use optical sources and power meters to trace, test, and resolve cable faults.
- Clean, bend‑radius manage, and route fibre, ensuring correct splice, splicing, and termination techniques.
- Install multi‑vendor DWDM equipment (Infinera, ALU, Juniper) and perform initial commissioning.
- Conduct site surveys and audits to verify installation compliance and performance.
**Required Skills:**
- Proficiency in data center design and documentation (MOPS).
- Hands‑on experience with power, grounding, and cabling installations.
- Expertise in copper and fibre optic cabling, testing, and fault troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with DWDM equipment and multi‑vendor solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 5 years of installation, site audit, or site survey experience in data center environments.
- Valid UK driving licence (or equivalent proof of driving capability).
