Job Description
**Job Title** Automation Area Manager **Role Summary** Lead day‑to‑day operations of an automated warehouse, managing financials, administration, SOPs, performance metrics, health & safety, and team development to maximise efficiency and profitability. **Expectations** - Deliver operational excellence within assigned automation shifts. - Drive continuous improvement through data‑driven solutions and KPI management. - Uphold compliance with HMRC regulations and industry safety standards. **Key Responsibilities** - Oversee daily automation warehouse activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial & administrative processes. - Mentor and manage shift supervisors & staff, addressing performance, absence, and disciplinary matters. - Monitor, analyse, and enhance SLA/KPI performance, applying corrective actions as needed. - Maintain inventory accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective measures. - Update SOP training modules, manage change control, and ensure SOP sign‑off. - Conduct regular briefings, communicate updates, and solicit continuous improvement ideas. - Lead health and safety initiatives, perform audits, and manage incident investigations with root‑cause analysis. - Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations for stored stock. - Identify and champion process improvement projects and technology enhancements. **Required Skills** - Proven 3PL warehouse automation management experience. - Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and SOP documentation. - Strong analytical, strategic planning, and capacity optimisation skills. - Leadership and team‑building abilities with excellent communication. - Sound knowledge of health & safety regulations and incident investigation techniques. - Regulatory compliance awareness (HMRC). **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred. - Relevant safety certification (e.g., IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH). - WMS/ERP user certification advantageous.
