**Job Title**
Cloud Platform Engineer
**Role Summary**
Design, build, and operate cloud-native platforms on AWS, focusing on Kubernetes (EKS), Terraform, CI/CD, observability, and API services. Lead end‑to‑end delivery, improve platform usability for engineering teams, and contribute to strategic roadmaps.
**Expectations**
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience in Cloud, DevOps, SRE, or Platform roles.
- Proven expertise in AWS infrastructure, Kubernetes (EKS), Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, and Grafana observability stack.
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or Go.
- Ability to design secure, performant, scalable, and cost‑efficient solutions.
- Collaborative mindset for cross‑functional platform ownership and knowledge sharing.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Develop and maintain the cloud control plane using IaC (Terraform) and Kubernetes (EKS, Helm, Flux).
2. Create, support, and evolve API services, API gateways, and WAF configurations.
3. Build and manage CI/CD pipelines in GitLab, integrating code quality, testing, and deployment stages.
4. Implement and maintain observability solutions (Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, Tempo).
5. Configure AWS core services, networking, IAM, load balancing, and security controls.
6. Automate infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, and remediation using Python/Go scripts.
7. Participate in design reviews, document platform standards, and mentor engineering peers.
8. Troubleshoot production incidents, optimize performance, and drive continuous improvement.
9. Collaborate with platform engineering teams to align on shared patterns, tools, and best practices.
**Required Skills**
- AWS (Compute, Storage, Networking, IAM, Security, CloudFormation).
- Kubernetes & EKS, Docker, Helm, Flux.
- Terraform (IaC).
- GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Observability stack: Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, Tempo.
- API gateway & WAF configuration.
- Programming: Python and/or Go.
- Linux, shell scripting, networking fundamentals, load balancing.
- Databases, REST/GraphQL APIs, OAuth2/OIDC, authentication/authorization.
- Workflow orchestration (Airflow).
- Design patterns, testing, SDLC practices.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- 4+ years in Cloud, DevOps, SRE, or Platform engineering.
- Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect / Developer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Terraform Associate (preferred).
