**Job title:** Principal Cyber Security Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Lead and execute advanced cyber threat detection, analysis, and response across enterprise networks, systems, and applications. Design and develop Python‑based security tools, conduct threat hunting, incident response, and periodic penetration testing to reinforce the organization’s security posture. Communicate findings, strategies, and recommendations to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
**Expactations:**
Deliver proactive vulnerability management, incident containment, and threat intelligence activities. Mentor junior security staff, provide actionable insights through reports and presentations, and maintain a continuous improvement cycle for security tooling and processes.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Monitor network, host, cloud, and application environments for indicators of compromise.
- Develop, maintain, and deploy Python‑based security utilities to counter emerging threats.
- Perform threat hunting using internal and industry datasets, identifying patterns and vulnerabilities.
- Execute incident response for internal and customer‑related attacks, including containment, eradication, and recovery.
- Conduct regular penetration tests and vulnerability assessments to validate controls.
- Analyze industry trends and produce concise security briefings and presentations.
- Collaborate with security operations, engineering, and business units to align security initiatives.
**Required Skills:**
- 5+ years of cybersecurity experience, 10+ years total in IT.
- 3+ years Python programming; proficiency in Go is a plus.
- Expert knowledge of security principles, threat hunting methodologies, threat intelligence, and reverse engineering (Ghidra/IDA).
- Familiarity with ELK stack, SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, vulnerability scanners, and malware analysis tools.
- Hands‑on experience with penetration testing tools and host/application/cloud security technologies.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Valid certifications: CompTIA Security+, CEH, or GIAC (preferred).
